On the afternoon of March 26, a delegation led by the Dean of the Faculty of International Business Management of Ubon Ratchathani University, Thailand, consisting of 6 faculty members and 26 students, visited Polygon Precision Industry Group for a half-day exchange program.

The delegation was warmly received by the Group’s senior management team, along with representatives from the Chengdu company, the regional marketing and sales team, the Group Operations Management Center, the Chengdu sales team, and relevant departments from the Thailand company.

First, a welcome speech was delivered, along with an introduction of the attendees. It was noted that, as a group deeply engaged in the manufacturing of precision industrial components, the company firmly believes that technological advancement relies on openness and exchange.

In recent years, in response to the “China Plus One” strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative, the company has expanded from a single-market focus to a global presence. This transition reflects a shift from “Made in China” to “Made for the World,” and from exporting products to exporting capabilities. As part of this strategy, a new subsidiary has been established in Chonburi, Thailand, marking a significant step in its international expansion.

It was also emphasized that going global is not only about extending production capacity, but also about fostering cultural integration and building meaningful connections. Therefore, this exchange is not only a platform for collaboration between academia and industry, but also an opportunity for a deep cultural exchange between China and Thailand.

Next, the Dean of the Faculty of International Business Management at Ubon Ratchathani University expressed gratitude for the warm reception by Polygon and introduced the university as well as the visiting faculty and students.

Ubon Ratchathani University, located in northeastern Thailand, comprises multiple faculties and offers undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. The visiting students are second- and third-year students majoring in International Business Management. The purpose of this visit is to give students firsthand exposure to corporate operations, helping them understand the realities of business management and laying a foundation for their future careers.

During the meeting, both teams engaged in discussions and exchanges on various topics, including Chinese-Thai culture and economic and trade relations. Polygon’s Marketing and Sales Center also presented an overview of the company, which drew strong interest from the visiting faculty and students. From R&D and design to precision manufacturing, and from quality control to intelligent applications, every aspect sparked lively discussions.

Throughout the session, both sides communicated extensively on a range of questions, such as: Why did Polygon choose Thailand rather than Vietnam as the location for its first overseas factory? How does Polygon’s precision differentiate itself from that of Germany and Japan? What are Polygon’s future global strategies? Has the conflict in the Middle East affected Polygon’s business? With many Japanese enterprises operating in Thailand, how does Polygon’s Thai factory compete with them? How is production stability ensured for high-precision products?

Following the meeting, the visiting faculty and students toured the factory under the guidance of the sales team. During the visit, we not only shared technical expertise but also exchanged ideas on industrial culture and development philosophies between the two countries. Our guests had the opportunity to explore the precision mold R&D center, the digitalized production workshops, and the intelligent logistics and warehousing systems, gaining a close-up experience of the charm of “Made in China.”

Looking ahead, we will continue to advance our global strategy with an open mindset, allowing technology and culture to flourish brilliantly through mutual exchange and collaboration.
